# Find Decision Makers

> Define and review contact candidates for a company and target role, then use the maintained waterfall to pilot and execute.

[Human guide: work with your agent →](https://deepline.com/docs/human/plays/task-find-decision-makers.md)

> [!NOTE]
>
> Find current contact candidates for an explicit role, then review identity and
> role relevance.

Use this task page to define the account and role scope for a decision-maker
search. It produces contact candidates to review. It does not prove that a
person owns a buying decision or that they are the right person to contact.

## Define the request

For each company, provide a domain and the role you want to investigate. Use
one to three precise title strings when you know them, such as `VP Marketing`,
`Director of Demand Generation`, or `Head of Security`. Add a broad seniority
hint only when it improves the decision, for example `VP` or `Director`.

Avoid treating a broad function such as "marketing" as a final persona
definition. It can be a useful exploratory request, but the returned titles
need closer review.

## Ask an agent

```text theme={"languages":{"custom":["/languages/deepline-prompt.json"]}}
/deepline-gtm For the companies in targets.csv, find contact candidates for
VP Marketing and Director of Demand Generation. Pilot representative rows
first. Keep no-result and ambiguous-title rows, show the returned fields and
Deepline-credit usage, and do not write to a CRM.
```

## Run the maintained Play

[Company to contact by role waterfall](https://deepline.com/docs/plays/company-to-contact-by-role-waterfall.md)
owns the executable CLI procedure, current input and output contract, and
pilot guidance. Start there before running a file or changing the requested
scope.

## Review before activation

Check the returned current title, company match, and any ambiguity before you
use a candidate in downstream work. Then use [Find Work Email](https://deepline.com/docs/plays/task-find-work-email.md)
only for the candidates whose identity and role you have reviewed.

## Verify this task

Compare returned company and title evidence with the requested persona. Keep uncertain titles separate from accepted candidates.

Ask your agent to explain a failed check before repeating work or expanding the scope.
